"Το Γυμνάσιο της Πέτρας την περίοδο της δικτατορίας, μέσα από τα αρχεία του σχολείου και προφορικές μαρτυρίες"

Abstract

Η διπλωματική αυτή εργασία ασχολείται με το Γυμνάσιο της Πέτρας Λέσβου κατά την περίοδο της επτάχρονης δικτατορίας (1967-1974). Σκοπός της εργασίας είναι να απαντήσει σε ερωτήματα σχετικά με την πολιτική της δικτατορίας στον τομέα της εκπαίδευσης, τον ρόλο που επεφύλασσε το καθεστώς στο σχολείο και στους εκπαιδευτικούς, τις ομοιότητες και τις διαφορές σε σχέση με την πολιτική που ακολουθήθηκε σ’ αυτόν τον τομέα τα προηγούμενα χρόνια. Άλλα ερωτήματα είναι αν ήταν η πολιτική της δικτατορίας στόχευε μόνο στην αναμόρφωση του σχολείου ή αν το σχολείο έπρεπε να παίξει κάποιο ρόλο στην αναμόρφωση της τοπικής κοινωνίας, πως τα δρώντα υποκείμενα, καθηγητές και μαθητές, ανταποκρίθηκαν σ’ αυτή την ιδεολογία, αν υπήρξαν αντιδράσεις ή πλήρης υπακοή στις εντολές της δικτατορίας. Στο πρώτο και εισαγωγικό μέρος της εργασίας αναφέρεται το θέμα και ο σκοπός της εργασίας, η μέθοδος που ακολουθήθηκε για τη συγκέντρωση και την επεξεργασία του υλικού και η πορεία της έρευνας. Στο δεύτερο μέρος γίνεται αναφορά στο ιστορικό πλαίσιο της εποχής και στα σημαντικά γεγονότα της επταετίας, με έμφαση στην ιδεολογία της εποχής και στο ρόλο που προσέδιδε στην εκπαίδευση η δικτατορία και ακολουθεί σύντομη αναφορά στη Λέσβο την εποχή της δικτατορίας. Στο τρίτο μέρος της εργασίας, που εκπονήθηκε με συνδυασμό του αρχειακού υλικού του Γυμνασίου της Πέτρας και υλικού από συνεντεύξεις μαθητών και καθηγητών της εποχής, δίνεται το ιστορικό της ίδρυσης του Γυμνασίου και στοιχεία για τη λειτουργία του κατά την υπό μελέτη περίοδο. Έμφαση δίνεται σε θέματα όπως ο σκοπός του σχολείου, το σχολείο ως μηχανισμός προπαγάνδας και προβολής του έργου της δικτατορίας, η προβολή της ιδεολογίας της δικτατορίας στο σχολείο, οι κανόνες για τους μαθητές και τους εκπαιδευτικούς, ο εξωσχολικός έλεγχος μαθητών και οι ποινές, οι αλλαγές μετά την πτώση της δικτατορίας. Ακολουθούν τα συμπεράσματα, η βιβλιογραφία και τα παραρτήματα. Στο πρώτο παράρτημα παρατίθενται τα ερωτηματολόγια που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν στις συνεντεύξεις και στο δεύτερο έγγραφα της περιόδου προερχόμενα από το αρχείο του σχολείου.

This thesis deals with the High School of Petra of Lesvos during the period of the seven-year dictatorship (1967-1974). The aim of the thesis is to answer questions regarding the policy of the dictatorship in the area of education, the role that the dictatorship reserved for the school and the teachers, the similarities and the differences regarding the policy that had been followed in that sector the previous years. Other questions are whether the policy of the dictatorship aimed only at the reformation of the school or whether the school had a part to play in the reformation of the local society, how the active subjects, teachers and pupils, corresponded in that ideology, whether there was opposition or complete obedience to the orders of the regime. In the first and introductory part of the essay there is reference to the subject and the aim of the essay, the method that was followed regarding the collection and the elaboration of the material and the progress of the essay. In the second part there is reference to the historical context of that period and the important events of the seven- year dictatorship, with emphasis in the ideology of the period and the role of education. All that is followed by some reference to Lesvos during the dictatorship. In the third part of the essay, which was elaborated with the combination of the material of the archives of the High School of Petra and the material from the interviews of pupils and teachers of that period, there is information about the establishment of the school and its function in the period. Emphasis is put on issues such as the goal of the school, the school as a mechanism of propaganda and promotion of the work of the regime, the promotion of the ideology of the dictatorship at school, the rules involving the pupils and the teachers, the way the pupils were controlled outside the school and the penalties, the changes after the fall of the regime. Then the conclusions, the bibliography and the appendixes follow. In the first appendix the questionnaires that were used for the interviews are given and in the second documents of the period coming from the school archives.
